The Perfect Margarita
Meet the Classic Margarita: salty, citrusy, and fully prepared to be the main character this May. 🍋🟩🍹
It’s our Drink of the Month because Cinco de Mayo deserves something timeless, refreshing, and just a little bit spicy around the rim. This margarita keeps it classic with tequila, fresh lime juice, agave, and our orange liqueur of choice: Cointreau. Why Cointreau? Because she’s bright, balanced, and brings that clean citrus flavor without trying to steal the whole show. Basically, she knows her role and plays it beautifully.
Why we love it:
It’s crisp. It’s tangy. It’s got a Tajín-salt rim with just enough attitude. The kind of cocktail that says, “I came here to celebrate,” but also, “Yes, I know the difference between triple sec, Cointreau, and Grand Marnier.”
Recipe:
Lime juice, Tajín, and salt for the rim
2 oz tequila
¾ oz Cointreau
1 oz fresh lime juice
½ oz agave
Garnish: lime wedge and a little mint sprig
How to make it:
Rim your glass with lime juice, then dip it into a mix of Tajín and salt.
Add tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and agave to a shaker.
Add ice and shake it like someone just yelled “one more game” after you already packed up your paddle.
Strain into your rimmed glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with a lime wedge and a little mint sprig for the illusion of restraint.
